Daily walk with God

Daily walk with God – Why you need to walk with God?

How are you doing today? How was your night?

Did you, by any chance, talk to God today? If your answer is yes, that’s great. If it’s not, it’s not bad either.

The truth is, God is a relational being. He wants us to talk to Him every day of our lives. He loves to relate with us. Do you remember His relationship with Adam in the book of Genesis? The Bible recorded that God would come down in the cool of the day to have fellowship with Adam – Genesis 3:8. It is His desire to have fellowship with you too. There are so many things He wants to tell us. It will amaze you that He is more eager to talk with you than you are eager to talk with Him.

I know that it is not always easy to set aside time to talk to God every day, especially if you are a married woman. You have kids to take care of. Your husband is there. There are errands to run, etc. But nonetheless, having a daily walk with God is non-negotiable. You need to make it a priority to always find time to fellowship with God.

There are many benefits you will experience when you talk to God on a daily basis.

1.         Divine direction
All of us need direction one way or the other. We need God to help us make informed decisions at every point in our lives. When you talk to God on a daily basis, you will have the wisdom to make the right decisions. The Holy Spirit will help you to take the right step. Imagine you want to buy an appliance and you don’t know which one to pick. If you are a woman of prayer, the Lord will direct you to make the right decision because you are trusting in the Lord and not relying on your own understanding.

2.         Divine protection
If you walk with God on a daily basis, He will send His angels to always be with you, to guide and watch over you. He’ll never allow evil to befall you. In the book of Psalm 91, verse 1, the Bible says, “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” Spending time with God simply means abiding in the secret place of God. So, no evil can touch you there.

3.         Divine provision
It is not all the time that we get what we need, especially when it comes to provision. You may need money to make purchases for the family or even for yourself, but the money may not be there. If you are a person who walks with God on a daily basis, you need not fear. The Bible says in Psalm 23:1, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” Because you acknowledged God in the early hours of the day, He will show up for you when you need help. He is your Shepherd and so, He is responsible for your upkeep. Have you ever seen sheep looking for food on their own? They have a shepherd who takes care of them. That’s God’s responsibility. But you can only experience it when you have a relationship with Him.

These and many more are the reasons why you need a daily walk with the Lord. Now, one of the things that will make your daily walk with God memorable and sweet is when you have the right devotional to read before talking to God in your quiet time. It gives prayer points and Bible verses to ponder on during the day. Here is a devotional you can check out – 5 Minutes Devotional for Women.

Have a lovely day!
